When you first install Imagemaster R/t, there is one thing you should do
before you attempt to actually use the software to edit images. You will
need a blank 3.5 inch diskette for this procedure.
Begin by starting the software, either from a shell by typing \ts b run
imf\ts n , or from the WorkBench by double clicking on the Imagemaster R/t
icon. Once the software has been started, select \{ \tc DarkBlue Display \}
from the main panel. Then select \{ \tc DarkBlue Set Aspect \} from the
Display panel.
\{ \ra \image "imdoc:Clips/Floppy.pic" l 10 \cap You will be presented with
the outline of a standard floppy disk on the screen. Hold the 3.5 inch
diskette up to the monitor with one hand, and use the other hand to size the
on-screen outline (see the next paragraph for resizing instructions) so that
it fits as closely as possible around the diskette. Note that the outline
shows the diskette's \ts i shutter \ts n oriented towards the bottom of the
display. Hold the diskette the same way.\}
\{ \la \image "imdoc:Clips/Mouse2.pic" r 10 \cap To resize the outline, press
and \ts i hold \ts n the left mouse button at the bottom right hand corner of
the outline and \ts i drag \ts n the mouse. If, at the same time, you need
to reposition the outline, press and hold the \ts i right \ts n mouse button
as well. When you have the outline repositioned, release the right mouse
button only.\}
When the outline fits the diskette, release both mouse buttons, press the
\{ \tc DarkBlue Apply To All Modes \} button and then the \{ \tc DarkBlue
Done \} button. You will be returned to the display control panel. Press
\{ \tc DarkBlue Done \} in this panel as well; you will be returned to the
main control panel. Now, press the \{ \tc DarkBlue Setup \} button in the
main panel; the Setup panel opens. Press the \{ \tc DarkBlue Save Defaults \}
button here and when the file requester opens, accept the file name and path
that are preset in the requester.
\{ \ra \image "imdoc:Clips/Check.pic" l 10 \cap This completes the
preliminary setup for Imagemaster R/t. What you have done is informed the
software about the Aspect Ratio of your display system. Imagemaster R/t now
"knows" how to adjust a displayed image's size so that the displayed image is
exactly correct for editing.\}
If at any point in the future you adjust the height and/or width controls on
your monitor, or you change display monitors, remember to perform this
procedure again as the settings that Imagemaster R/t has saved will no longer
be accurate.
